Exercise- My good friend Hoda is visiting this weekend and she joined in on a breezy workout. We walked up 5th Ave to the Guggenheim Museum, then met up with my friend Azin for a Mani/Pedi that took about 2hours b/c we were goofing off. Take note of our shoes-- I was able to convince Azin to get the MBTs- and she loves them. Get yourself a pair- it will change your life!
- Walked at rate of 3mils/hr from my apt to 88th st & 5th ave, then down to 72nd st & 2nd ave (total of 6.3 miles)------- -444 calories
Judging from the above calorie intake, it seems like I totally failed today and I blame it completely on the fact that I did not go to bed on time. After "lunch" Hoda and I went to IFC to watch Bahman Ghobadi's new film, No One Knows About Persian Cats, which was-by the way- unbearingly gripping. If you have not seen it- GO SEE IT! Ghobadi unveils Iranian society (Tehran really) in a way that I have never seen done before. After that, we ended up going to a late-night (12am) Jazz show at Blue-Note, which is in fact what set off my hunger- resulting in the extra 573 calories tonight. I plan to take in less or burn double tomorrow to make up for it. After all I am human. Point being- if you want your diet to work you must sleep at a reasonable hour.
